Dr. Long graduated from Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1968. He was on the Nevada State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners for ten years. He opened Animal Medical Center of Reno in 1986; one of Reno’s longest standing veterinary clinics in the Reno/Sparks area. In 2002, he opened Reno Hospital for Cats to be able to give cats and their owners a reduced stress environment with a hospital designed just for cats!
Dr. Long also served in the United States Air Force Veterinary Corps. As a Captain from 1968 to 1970. He belongs to several professional associations such as: American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Western Nevada Veterinary Society, American Association of Feline Practitioners, and Alpha Zeta Honorary.
Dr. Long grew up in Winfield, Kansas on a cattle ranch, which he now goes back to visit from time to time. He has two German Shorthair pointers who enjoy helping out on his bird hunting adventures. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife, Nancy, playing golf, woodworking, and metal working.

Dr. Betsy Phillips graduated with her as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri in 2000 (Summa Cum Laude). She volunteers on the State of Nevada Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners as secretary of treasury. She also belongs to the following professional associations such as: American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Nevada Veterinary Medical Association, Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society.
Dr. Betsy Phillips has a special interest in the following areas of veterinary medicine: preventative care, nutrition, ophthalmology, and puppy/kitten socialization.
Dr. Phillps and her husband, Greg, moved to the Carson Valley area in 2000. Her family, including two young children, enjoys spending their free time in the mountains. They also have fun with their young kitten Clementine.

Sammy is the practice manager for Reno Hospital for Cats. She graduated as a licensed veterinary technician in 2009 from Truckee Meadows Community College. She is a member of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians of America. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine. She has a strong passion for providing our clients with the best customer service, and giving our patients the highest standard of medicine and care.
Sammy is a native Nevadan, she has been working in the veterinary field since 2005. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband Clint, and their two sons. She has two cats at home- Sheeba and Izzy, and a dog Ashford.

Lindsay has been working in the veterinary field since 2004. She enjoys watching our client’s animal grow and change over the years. She was born in Colorado, but with military parents she and her family moved around quite a bit. They settled in Nevada 15 years ago. Lindsay served in the US army for 8 years, where she met her husband. They share a home in Reno with their dogs; Warthog, Brian, and Carlos- who were all rescued. In her free time she, and her husband enjoys hiking, and trips to Lake Tahoe.

Jessie was born and raised in Reno, NV (3rd generation Basque). She graduated from Reno High School in 2003. She has been a veterinary assistant for 7years and truly enjoys everyday of it. In her free time she enjoys disc golf, going to the lake and watching baseball and football. Her family is complete with Hurley (pit-bull) and Myles (golden retriever).
